Will AI replace you?

There's so much fear-mongering about AI these days.

I'm fed up with it.

Writers (copywriters, ghostwriters) seem to be especially worried.

It’s no surprise.

In my opinion … AI is already better at “writing” than most writers.

I personally use it for most of my client work these days. It’s just SO good at putting ideas into words.

But … who’s going to come up with those ideas?

See…

“Writing” is only about 30%
of what a good writer does.

Here’s what most writers don’t understand:

Nobody wants you to “write” for them… 

But everybody wants you to understand their unique & complex situation, categorize it into the bigger picture, and create a solution.

AI can’t do these things.

AI can only solve specific problems that you feed it.

It's unbeatable at that.

But it doesn’t understand where these problems exist in the grand scheme of things.

It would be far too much information to feed the AI. 

It’s not like it doesn’t have access to this information … but it can’t discern between useful and useless information for this one highly-specific situation and its unique context.

Only an involved human can do that.

I like to summarize it this way:

AI is better at writing … but it's worse at selling.

And as a writer … you're always selling.

• Ideas

• Stories

• Actions

• Feelings

• Products

Look…

I'm a big fan of AI.

It's made everything in my business (and private life) A LOT easier.

But I don’t see it replacing “the human touch” any time soon.

And one last point…

The “AI doomers” you see on Twitter foaming at the mouth and flailing their arms like a doomsday prophet usually do it for one reason…

CLOUT.

Often, they don't actually believe what they're saying.

They just blurt out whatever sounds most dystopian and limbically hijacking because that's what gets attention.

I get it … but I don’t endorse it.

I'm optimistic about AI.

The ones who:

• Keep upskilling

• Connecting the dots

• Think from first principles

…will NOT be replaced by AI.

On the contrary…

They can and will use AI to become more intelligent, wealthy, and happy.
