Why I don’t talk about how much money I make
Reason #1: It’s cringe.
Reason #2: I used to do it – and it sucked.
Beginning of last year, I couldn’t shut up about how much munni I made.
But to give credit to younger Tim … I thought that flaunting my numbers was what would get me leads.
And truthfully … it did.
But there was a problem.
90% of the leads I attracted were short-sighted, unintelligent tire-kickers who didn’t speak proper English.
The unserious many who dream of making stacks of dough but never commit by investing in themselves.
Not who I wanna work with.
It wasn’t until I stopped flexing my rookie numbers that I attracted QUALITY leads (those who’d happily pay $3k+ for a copywriter).
How did I do it?
I created a content strategy that I call…
The Lead Detective Strategy.
Admittedly not the best for follower growth … but it’s extremely effective at “teasing out” the high-caliber buyers hidden in your audience already.
If you have more than 300 followers…
You have at least 1-3 multi-4-figure clients hidden among them.
Instead of chasing after shit quality leads – like 99% of copywriters on X – wouldn’t it be smarter to find and convert those 1-3 leads who already know, like, and follow you?
In my opinion … it is.
Much less effort, no hard selling, or forcing a boring DM conversation leading nowhere.
