“This SUCKS!”
…I think as I’m spread out on my couch watching the Tour de France in the background.
I’ve just returned from the gym, had Salmon for lunch, and now … I’m back to the same state I’ve been in for DAYS now.
I feel BORED!
My life has been turbulent lately.
I’ve finished my semester of uni … I went on a spontaneous vacation to Italy with two of my friends (highly recommend) … and I’ve had some relationship “issues” that needed to be resolved.
Now that that’s (mostly) over … I feel purposeless. Empty. Dull.
And deep down?
I’m craving
something NEW!
A new challenge. A new mission. Something to look forward to.
It just … hasn’t come to me yet. Still waiting for that spark.
It’s frustrating. You have the energy, motivation, and ambition … but nothing – no pursuit, no activity – feels right.
Have you ever felt this way before?
Well, that’s currently how I feel. And in a desperate search for an answer … I was reminded of a concept I’d been following RELIGIOUSLY for 2 years. It’s called:
Just ship SOMETHING!
It’s the reason I’m writing this email.
I’ll admit…
This might be one of the worst emails I’ll ever write. But that’s fine. This is not about creating something GOOD … this is about creating SOMETHING – no matter how it looks at the end.
One thing I’ve observed:
Ideas are fickle. They’ll rarely strike you when you’re looking for them. More often? They’ll emerge when you’re taking action. So, instead of waiting for ideas…
CREATE THEM.
Start working on SOMETHING. More often than not … you’ll “wake up” 30 minutes later, flooded with fresh ideas and inspiration. At the very least … you’ve created something you can build on.
Here’s how you might do this:
Start writing about how you feel
Put on your running shoes and start running
Take a sheet of paper and paint a goofy picture of yourself
Don’t stop for 5 minutes. Force yourself to keep going.
And voìla…
…that’s the story of today’s email.
Stop waiting – ship, ship, ship.
Talk soon,
Tim <3
P.S. Thanks for the many kind replies to my last email. Reply to this one as well if you want to make me happy. :)
