I quit my job

You heard me right.

This Thursday I finally got my act together and said:

Fuck it! I’m done!

I’d been working at this job for about a year now.

And looking back it was a great way for me to earn some money on the side.

• Easy work

• Nice people

• Short commute

A dream for most people.

But for me, it was just a means to an end.

I knew that once my business took off I wouldn’t need it anymore.

And then eventually…

My business did take off. But I still didn’t quit.

I was scared.

• Scared of what my employer would say

• Scared of what my family would say

• Scared of making the commitment

And so I carried on with my “comfortable” routine of waking up early and heading off to work.

There I’d spend hours thinking about all the things I could be doing for my business.

Bored to death, knocking myself out about being too scared to quit.

It was torture.

But it was comfortable. So I stayed.

One day on my evening walk, however, I realized something:

This is the single thing in my life that I hate.

It’s the ONLY thing preventing me from living the dream.

Everything else makes me happy.

Even university—which consumes a lot of time—is quite fulfilling.

The only stain in my life is this job.

And that’s when I had the “fuck it” epiphany.

I sprinted home, researched “how to quit a job” (I’d never done that before), and pieced together my notice.

It felt right.

(Also considering that I make about twice as much from my business now)

I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunities YOU (yes you) have given me.

I’m just a normal dude who had a dream of quitting his job with WIFI-money.

And somehow, after a looong time & lots of failing, I made it happen.
