A message from Paradise

Today I took a flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui (where I’ll be staying these next few weeks).

Sounds pretty cool, eh?

The problem is…

The flight was at 6 AM 😒

Which means we had to check out of our hotel at 3:30 AM-ish.

And because we were staying dead in the center of Khaosan road (which is where the party is at) …

We had the brilliant idea…

Not to sleep. At all.

Instead?

We went out to hit the pubs.

And I've gotta admit, it was very fun. Bangkok is a… how do I put this… FUCKING INSANE city.

In both good & bad ways.

(A city like this is incomprehensible to a tender European like me).

Anyways… Today I didn't sleep. Not a single hour.

And now I'm paying the price.

I (usually) take my sleep very seriously.I make tons of sacrifices to get the best quality sleep every night.

…And I didn’t know being sleep-deprived felt this shitty.

  • My willpower is at sub-zero (I procrastinated on taking a shower for 3 hours…)

  • I'm irritable af (I swear if I see another loud-ass mosquito I’m gonna chase after it with a broomstick)

  • And worst of all… I find it hard to write content for you guys 😭😭😭

(Oh… and I also locked my passport in a safe and forgot the password. I’ll have to figure that out as well. Ooops.)

But I don't mean to just complain…

I want to leave you peeps with a lesson – a big realization I've had recently:

You don't want more clients… you want better clients.

Clients who:

  1. Respect your expertise

  2. Implement your ideas

  3. Pay you on time

  4. Don't waste your time unnecessarily

That's what you really want.

I’ve let go of multiple clients these past few months.

And I won't pretend that my income hasn't taken a hit.

But guess what?

I feel so much more peaceful. Plus, I have more time to work on things that move the needle long-term.

(Or go on crazy adventures like Thailand).

Things like:

  • Delivering results for my best clients

  • Building systems & back-end infrastructure

  • Upskilling, learning & getting better at (copy-)writing

Remember:

Long-term income growth > burning yourself out with clients who don't respect you.

And that sometimes means accepting a little income dip.

Right.

I’ll leave you with that.

I'm going to try not to fall asleep now as it's only 11:51 AM. Jetlag still hitting heavy.

Talk soon,

Tim <3
