Why I’ve stopped engaging

Maybe you should too

Despite:

  • Making $2k/m

  • Having 2,000+ followers

  • Running my dream business

I still feel left behind sometimes.

The reason?

Social comparisons.

You know, X is brutal.

Not because it’s so hard to make it on here…

But because you’re constantly bombarded with people doing better than you.

24/7, 365.

That’s why I’ve recently stopped engaging.

It just fucked with my expectations.

I demanded that I achieve the same level of success as all these big creators.

But if I didn’t achieve these unrealistic expectations…

I felt like a steaming pile of cat poop.

Now that in and of itself wouldn’t be the problem…

But this low mood led to me producing bad content…

Which led to it not performing well…

Which led to me feeling even more miserable.

A vicious cycle.

So…

I stopped engaging.

And life has been a breeze ever since.

Sure, my growth hasn’t been as rapid, but honestly, I don’t care.

I’m not here to please the random strangers out there on the interwebs.

I’m here to please my clients and fans.

Now, you don’t need to stop engaging altogether.

But if you’re spending more than an hour every day on X…

I recommend you take a step back and ask yourself if that is even necessary.

It might be…

But oftentimes it’s not.
