I talked to a billionaire

Here's his biggest secret

I've told you before that I study industrial psychology.

And the university I attend is owned by one of the wealthiest families in Germany.

On Monday, the 81-year-old, slightly unhinged patriarch of said family showed up to give a speech.

The speech itself is not worth talking about.

But once he was finished…

I AMBUSHED him and TRAPPED him in a fierce cross-interrogation.

(Not physically. Just with questions.)

And his answers left me slightly disappointed.

Why?

Because, well, I expected some revelatory insights into what makes billionaires so different from us mortals.

But no matter what I asked him … he kept harping on about this one topic. Over and over again.

The topic? Network.

Really?
This is it?!

I’ll be honest … I was kind of underwhelmed.

I was hoping for some deep psychological framework, a secret wealth-building principle, heck,  maybe even an Illuminati invite. (You never know 🤷)

But no.

Just network, network, network.

Not exactly earth-shattering.

But the more he talked, the more I realized…

He had a point.

He explained: Entrepreneurs do things most people would consider insane. We take big risks. We make big moves.

And sometimes?

We fall flat on our faces.

Like a circus performer doing backflips on a tightrope.

Not every move lands.

And when you fall, you need a safety net.

A … network.

And lately, I've realized this as well.

Instead of just relying on content, outreach, or emails to sign clients … I’ve been asking my real-life network if they need help.

And mate…

You wouldn’t believe how many people did.

When I was relying only on Twitter, I thought:

  • “I’m just a mediocre copywriter.”

  • “There’s no demand for my services.”

  • “Everyone and their mom is offering the same thing.”

But in real life?

Completely different story.

Most writers are stuck
in a mental prison.

They’ve completely closed their minds to the real world as a business opportunity.

They think that nobody would understand.

And let’s face it:

Most writers are introverts and simply afraid to “put themselves” out there.

What a shame.

You’re letting your fear hold you back from helping people and building a profitable business.

Fuck that.

You’re building for a reason.

You’re here to serve others and help yourself in the process.

My appeal to you today:

Stop letting your fears keep you small. Go out there. Build a network. Pitch your ideas. Get rejected. Ask for fucking money … and take your business to the next level.

Rant: over.
