How I grow my bi'niz while on vacation

I work 30 mins per day

Lots of creators think they can NEVER take a day off.

Never ever in a million, gazillion years!

I disagree.

So, as you might know… I’m currently on vacation.

And my bi’niz is everything but a priority for me right now.

Usually, I spend like 30 mins in the morning doing some client work and answering my DM’s.

Sometimes I do even less.

But once I’m done… I go play beach volleyball, head out for dinner, or just catch a brutal sunburn after falling asleep in the sun (my favorite).

The peaceful life, ya know?

And look… I won't pretend that my business is rapidly growing while I’m doing virtually… nothing.

But bi’niz ain’t bad either.

Income is hitting the Stripe consistently — so far I’ve actually made a profit on this vacay — and, more importantly, clients are happy.

I want to teach you how YOU can do the same.

This email is about systemizing your business to enjoy yourself some time off, recharge, gain clarity, or travel the world.

Because, let’s face it:

That was the point of this business anyway. We didn’t start this to work slave-like hours and never take a day off. Hell no. We started this business to actually ENJOY our lives.

Without further ado… Let's gettit started.

Step #1: Cut the Crap!!!

One of the big epiphany moments I’ve had in the last month was this:

96% of the work I do is useless.

You've heard of Pareto’s Principle. The 80/20 rule.

20% of actions lead to 80% of outcomes.

But this can be taken even further.

Of those 20%...

Only about another 20% are the ACTUAL needle-movers.

4% of actions lead to 64% of outcomes.

When I read about this… I felt pretty stupid.

“Are 96% of the things I do pretty much useless?!”

Well… yes.

After having a short-lived business crisis… I put aside my ego and did the following:

  • I wrote down ALL of the tasks I did on a daily and weekly basis. (It was a looong fucking list).

  • I looked at each one and asked myself: is this task important to my business?

  • If the answer was no: I crossed it off my list and never thought about it again. This was things like: checking my inbox multiple times/day… Replying to comments, etc.

  • If the answer was yes: I asked myself the next question: Is this part of the 4% that lead to 64% of the results?

I did this for every recurring task.

By the end?

I had exactly 4 tasks that were actually important to my business success:

  • Client work

  • Warm outreach

  • Building my course

  • Writing X content & repurposing it

The weird part?

I discovered that seemingly unproductive things were actually really important for my business (part of the 20%).

  • Reading books

  • Sitting on the throne without my phone (how's that for a bar?)

  • A slow morning routine where I DON'T get to work immediately

  • Doing… well… nothing (aka taking a vacation)

This gave me TONS of clarity.

This step is about removing the useless tasks (cutting the crap) and focusing on the needle-movers.

Next.

Step #2: Minimum viable output

I came up with this name. *pats himself on the back*

MVO

Minimum viable output.

This is the absolute minimum amount of work you have to do to achieve your goals.

It's basically about reverse-engineering your goals and putting a specific number to the actions you have to take.

What's your goal?

Mine is $10k/mo by the end of the year.

We just clarified what tasks you have to complete to achieve this.

Now it's time to uncover how much.

  • How many outreaches do you have to do?

  • How many posts do you have to publish?

  • How many emails do you have to write?

  • Etc.

Put a specific number to this.

Break this down into a DAILY goal.

Now you know exactly how much of which task you have to complete every day to reach your goals.

How cool is that?

Step #3: Front-loading

Before I packed my bags to head north towards the Baltic Sea…

I scheduled 2 weeks’ worth of content.

I front-loaded the work.

This way I don't have to waste a single brain calorie thinking about content. For the next 2 weeks.

I have my systems in place.

“Systems are the key to freedom.”
– me ;)

I just came up with that.

Put in some work beforehand to enjoy some well-deserved time off later.

But yeah…

That's how I keep my business up and running and profitable while working only 30-60 mins a day.

Pretty cool huh?

But tell me… what do you think of this system? How do you plan to implement it? When was the last time you’ve taken a break 🧐?
