Picture this
Picture this:

You smirk. Another one. Business on autopilot, the way life should be.
But then…

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*
“Wake the f**k up! You’re not there yet, you sleepy bum.” Rumbles a strange man standing next to your bed.
Is this…
No!

On a serious note.
A lot of creators dream of having their entire business run on autopilot while only doing things they enjoy (for me, that’s writing).
They dream of having digital products that allow them time, financial, and location freedom.
And the truth is:
That CAN be your reality.
Just look at people like Dan Koe – he writes one newsletter article per week and he’s selling courses like CRAZY. He’s living proof that this doesn’t have to be just a dream.
But here’s what most creators don’t understand:
Successful digital product sellers have spent YEARS building up their skillset and foundation to make this happen.

There is no way around it.

Here’s why client work is a prerequisite to building a freedom business in the long run:
Client work will improve your skills better than ANY course or mentorship could ever do – you’re FORCED to deliver results and develop skills that you wouldn’t have otherwise learned. My copywriting skills improved the most once I did it for OTHER people (these skills are necessary for later selling your own products)
Client work will teach you how to sell yourself – in order to land a client, you need to position yourself as an authority and someone who can help them. This skill is a MUST for later selling your own stuff
You get experience & social proof (that you can sell) – nobody would have listened to Dan Koe if he hadn’t built something impressive beforehand. He used the ‘10k months’ he made as a web designer as social proof for his digital products
And a bunch of more reasons I won’t go into.
The point stands:
Everyone should start with DFY work before moving on to digital products (or coaching for that matter).
Yeah… you might not like client work.
But view it as a springboard.
Climbing Mount Everest requires pit stops at base camps to refuel and recharge. Skip those, and you'll be left starving, freezing, and stuck halfway up the mountain. Not exactly ideal in my book.
Client work is a necessary step on your path to total freedom.
