“Dude, it’s literally so easy to make money”

“Dude, it’s literally so easy to make money”

…I think to myself as I view the website of a local restaurant (which, incidentally, my two brothers happen to work at).

I marvel at the website's crappy design…

Its lack of incentive to visit the restaurant…

The absence of an email capture and a lead magnet…

And I’m convinced:

I could make this dude
SO MUCH money!

…if only he let me help him.

The owner of the restaurant (my brothers’ boss) regularly complains about getting fewer and fewer customers… despite having an outstanding restaurant experience.

He’s trying every “marketing hack” in the book… just to barely break even.

Every hack, except for…

Online Marketing

See, I had a look at the traffic on the restaurant's website on Ahrefs.

Turns out…

THEY’RE GETTING 500+ VISITORS EVERY MONTH. 😵‍💫

This might not sound like much…

But for a niche restaurant with one location… this is HUGE.

Imagine if they turned only 15% of those visitors into additional customers at an AOV (average order value) of $30.

That’s $2,250 of additional revenue per month – with ZERO extra work.

Not half shabby for a local restaurant, eh?

How would I do this? Easy:

Offer a free glass of wine for their next visit to everyone who shares their email address + answers a few market research questions.

Why does this work?

First… nobody wants to miss out on a free gift.

Second… the market research questions would allow the owner to identify why people are/aren’t coming and create a better marketing campaign around that.

Third… we can now stay in regular contact with these leads via email (and if you didn’t know… email marketing is one of the most profitable marketing channels in existence – even for restaurants).

THIS GAME IS
TOO EASYYYY!

But…

The owner doesn’t know about that. 😞

So, tomorrow, I’ll go there, chat with the founder, and let him know about HOW MUCH FUCKING MONEY HE’S LEAVING ON THE TABLE!

Anyway…

There’s a reason I’m telling YOU about this.

See, the biggest “pain point” for most copywriters, and by far the most common question I get from my readers is the following:

“Tim, how do I get more clients?”

Now… there are a MILLION BILLION ways to get clients.

  • Warm DMs

  • Social media

  • Cold outreach

  • Etc.

I’ve tried all of them.

But BY FAR the most effective way I’ve found to get clients?

IRL connections.

Aka: Business owners you know from your real-life network.

Here’s EXACTLY how to do this:

  1. Identify business owners you know (who also know you preferably)

  2. Get in touch with them somehow

  3. Offer to help them for FREE and tell them everything you’d do to improve their marketing

  4. Let them decide whether they want to implement themselves or hire you to do it for them

  5. Either way, ask them for a referral afterward

BAM!

Is this easy? … No.

But it’s a HELLUVA LOT easier than sending 1,000s of cold DMs and grinding away like a digital slave strapped to a crusty computer chair every day. (It’s also more fun)

You just need the BALLS to ask.

Be fine with getting rejected. Be fine with looking like a clown. Be fine with providing tons of value and not getting anything in return.

I promise you…

This will not only get you more clients… but it will also shape your character in a way that no “digital outreach strategy” ever could.

And after all… that’s the real gift of entrepreneurship: Upgrading your character every day.

Talk soon,

Tim <3
