The dicey content sin you’re committing right now...
Yes, right now
I’m gonna make a WILD assumption about you:
You’re posting content on Twitter - almost every day.
Shocker. I know.
But I’m going to make another assumption:
You’re probably not making as much money from X as you’d like to.
Either:
1) You’re struggling to make your first penny.
2) You’ve felt the sweet sense of Internet Money hitting your bank account, but it’s not nearly enough.
Not enough to:
Quit your soul-sucking 9-5
Drop out of uni with a good conscience
Convince your family that you’re not just a fluke on the interwebs
Well…
No matter where you are, the solution boils down to 1 word.
Say it with me: C-O-N-T-E-N-T
Okay…
Let me tell you a quick story about this:
Came a young guy to me (slid into my DM’s).
Young guy was struggling.
He NEEDED to make some money from his brand quickly!
Otherwise, he’d have to take a summer job and stay in university (where he did NOT want to be).
He’d been working SUPER hard for MONTHS…
But he’d made around $50.
Not the best, frankly.
So he decided to invest in himself and his future and started working with me.
Upon working together, we IMMEDIATELY fixed one thing.
His content strategy.
Fast forward 2 weeks…
BAM! He’s made enough to ditch his summer job.
All because of - you guessed it - his CONTENT.
But if content is so important…
Why do so many creators fuck this up so badly?
Why are so many people doing the “right” thing, like posting “value” & “insights”…
And STILL not seeing results.
It’s because of balance.
Let me explain…
So you’ve probably heard of the 3 types of content that make people buy:
Value content
Insight content
Personality content
Just as a reminder:
→ VALUE is when you give people a replicable breakdown of how to achieve a desired outcome.
This is what builds trust.
→ INSIGHTS are when you give people the WHAT, but not the HOW.
This leads to frustration. It makes people buy.
→ PERSONALITY content is when you shitpost random stuff (my personal favorite).
So the logical conclusion would be to post as much insight content as possible, right?
Wrong.
Yes, it makes people buy.
But it RUINS your brand’s reputation over a long enough timeframe.
Do it too often & people won’t trust you.
But just posting value is equally bad.
You simply won’t make a penny in the first place.
It’s a very fine line to tread.
The solution?
A systemized schedule to balance insight & value content to maximize both:
Trust
Income
