Bicycle rizz

This might be one of the cringiest stories I’ve ever told.

But oh well… here goes nothin’…

So yesterday I told you about my credit card fiasco at the local coffee shop.

(Shame on you if you haven't read it.)

But on that very same day, in fact, on that very same adventure, something else happened that reminded me of a valuable business lesson.

So…

As I was cycling back home on my golden Kona mountain bike I spotted this cute girl – also on a mountain bike – cycling in front of me.

Didn't think much of her at first.

I was currently mapping out yesterday's email in my head so I could immediately start writing once I was home.

(Yes, I'm a nerd).

And so… I hopped out of her slipstream and passed her.

Casual overtake. No biggie.

2 minutes later, however…

I see the same lady AGAIN—

In front of me?!

“Huh? Didn't I just pass her 2 minutes ago?! She must have taken a shortcut or something.” I presume.

But then it hits me…

This might be the PERFECT opportunity to secure myself a phone number and perhaps, just maybe, meet my future girlfriend.

(C’mon anyone would think that, right?)

Well, as fate would have it, she's heading straight to the gym I usually work out at.

So I pass her again and strike up a conversation.

We swiftly talk about the gym, the weather, our mountain bikes… I make a corny joke… all while we’re still cycling next to one another.

I thought she was really nice and so… I officially decide to make my gentlemanly move…

I ask for her number.

I would lie if I said I wasn’t a little nervous. But I went for it anyway.

Now, you're probably wondering whether she gave it to me or not… But before I tell you, I need to make you aware of one thing:

MY DFY PROGRAM IS NOW OP—

Jk

She did give it to me. 🥳

My day was made and I cycled home with a smile on my face.

But because dating and marketing are very similar… I’ve had a little think.

See, I doubt that she would have been as receptive to me if we didn’t have as much in common (the mountain bike, the gym, the same route, etc.). I’m assuming that this lowered her guard and signaled that I wasn’t some creepy stalker hunting her down on the bike.

Equally…

Your potential customers are MUCH more receptive to listening to your offer pitch if you tell them exactly what you have in common.

And then I realized…

THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I’VE
BEEN DOING ALL ALONG!

Building your personal brand – to a large extent – is simply revealing your true interests, stories, and personality traits so other people can identify with them.

And if someone identifies with you… they trust you more.

And on that note…

This is exactly what I help my clients do:

I help SaaS founders build their personal brand from scratch to attract them a consistent stream of cute mountain bike ladies inbound leads so they don’t have to worry about customer acquisition any longer.

For the full details of how I do this… reply with “DFY” and I’ll send them to you.

(I can’t promise you cute girls’ phone numbers, but I hope inbound leads are an acceptable substitute.)

Tim ‘The Womanizer’ Schreiber 😅

P.S. Reply to let me know how you liked this email. I’m always happy when you guys reply :)
