Are you building a cage around yourself?
I used to be a slave.
Not in the literal, chains-and-whips sense.
But in a way that felt just as suffocating.
See, there was a time when I forced myself to post “authority content” every day because that’s what “smart” creators do.
Viral threads
Case studies
Tactical breakdowns
Did it work?
Sure. Engagement was decent. My audience grew. Clients showed up.
But I hated every second of it.
I started dreading opening my own X account. Writing felt like a chore. I wasn’t building a business – I was building a prison made of expectations I didn’t even want to meet.
We get into this game because we want to get paid to be ourselves.
Not to conform.
Not to chase trends.
Not to force ourselves into some rigid content formula just because it might get us more money or more clout.
When posting content merely becomes a box to tick off on your to-do list…
It’s time to pause.
Why are you actually here? To post 3 tweets per day? Or to build a business you enjoy?
The best content strategy is the one you find meaning in.
Because when you enjoy what you’re writing, you’re consistent. You’re unique. You build a brand people trust.
And trust? That’s what gets you clients.
F**k trends. Be yourself.
