Ahhh I forgot to write an email
Damn it
Damn it!
I got so lost in writing a sales letter for my DFY program that I forgot to send you guys an email yesterday. đ
I sincerely, wholeheartedly apologize.
(You must have missed me, right? RIGHT?! ⊠Say it back.)
Okay, you probably didnât even notice. đ
But I thought why not give you an âinsightâ into what Iâm currently working onâmy sales letter.
I want to highlight a specific part of that sales letter:
The Bullet Points
Reason being: bullet points are extremely effective for conveying the value of your offer as quickly as possible. No fluff. Just pure SELLINGânaturally a marketerâs favorite thing.
Hereâs what Iâve been working on yesterday:
==========
âYouâre a SaaS founder making more than $3,000/mo?
Let me know if any of this sounds relatable:
â Youâve just launched your product and after the initial spike in sales the growth is slowly tapering off (leaving you in a state of panic because you fear not being able to put food on the table for your family)
â Worse yetâŠYou wake up every morning just to find that another customer has churned (putting you under constant pressure to find new customers, leaving you unable to work on what actually matters: improving your product)
â Itâs impossible for you to âswitch offâ and relax because of the constant onslaught of problems waiting to be solved (customer complaints, bug fixes, marketing, getting new customers on board⊠itâs consuming all your free time which is damaging your relationships and is starting to affect your health)
â And so⊠Even your loved ones are starting to lose faith in you (maybe this was just a fluke and not something that can actually pay the bills long-term. This leaves you feeling lonely and misunderstoodânobody gets your obsession)
And now you realizeâŠ
â You are the âbottleneckâ in your business and youâre in desperate need of a distribution system that RELIABLY attracts you customers (so you can slow down and focus on building out your productâsetting the foundation for long-term growth & safety)â
==========
(Umm⊠sneaky sidenote: If any of these resonated with you⊠reply with âDFYâ to see how I can help đ ).
What am I trying to do here?
Well, itâs simple:
I want to HOOK my dream customers in by showing them âI understand your situation, Iâm here to help.â
(Please read the sentence above again. This is the single most important factor in making someone trust you and WANT to buy from you.)
âBut Tim, arenât these a little too specific?â
You might think that Iâm missing out on a BUNCH of clients that donât resonate with these experiences.
Wrong.
The thing is: your marketing should only target ONE specific avatar and that means one VERY specific set of problems nobodyâexcept themâwill understand. (Iâve been telling you about this for AGES!).
The reason?
These real-world, lived experiences will cut through like a hot knife through butter for that one specific person (my dream client).
If I were even a little more vague and targeted slightly higher-level problems⊠I wouldnât be able to resonate with that one person enough for them to trust me.
Anyways, continuingâŠ
What else am I trying to do here?
Notice how Iâm not asking questions? (*he says as he asks a question*)
Instead, Iâm expressing these feelings as if they were FACTS.
(Because to the right people⊠they are).
Adding too many questions to your sales copy
is a tell-tale sign of a newbie copywriter.
Questions like:
âDo you struggle with weight loss?â
âAre you feeling frustrated?â
âDo you want to buy from me đ„ș ?â
Questions make you seem uncertain.
Donât get me wrong⊠theyâre great for keeping the reader engaged. But thatâs not always the goal with hard sales copy.
We want to position ourselves as a confident leaderâsomeone who has the solution to their problems.
We want to hit close to home with the right person.
Iâm not saying:
âAre you unable to âswitch offâ and relax?â
Iâm saying:
âIt IS impossible for you to âswitch offâ and relax!!!â
Right. Those were 2 âhigher-levelâ copywriting principles you can take away from these bullets.
But thereâs plenty more to learn from them.
Who knows⊠maybe Iâll break this entire sales page down as a bonus for one of my upcoming courses? đ
Anyways, letâs crush it today.
