Ahhh I forgot to write an email

Damn it

Damn it!

I got so lost in writing a sales letter for my DFY program that I forgot to send you guys an email yesterday. 😭

I sincerely, wholeheartedly apologize.

(You must have missed me, right? RIGHT?!
 Say it back.)

Okay, you probably didn’t even notice. 😅

But I thought why not give you an “insight” into what I’m currently working on—my sales letter.

I want to highlight a specific part of that sales letter:

The Bullet Points

Reason being: bullet points are extremely effective for conveying the value of your offer as quickly as possible. No fluff. Just pure SELLING—naturally a marketer’s favorite thing.

Here’s what I’ve been working on yesterday:

==========

“You’re a SaaS founder making more than $3,000/mo?

Let me know if any of this sounds relatable:

❌ You’ve just launched your product and after the initial spike in sales the growth is slowly tapering off (leaving you in a state of panic because you fear not being able to put food on the table for your family)

❌ Worse yet
You wake up every morning just to find that another customer has churned (putting you under constant pressure to find new customers, leaving you unable to work on what actually matters: improving your product)

❌ It’s impossible for you to “switch off” and relax because of the constant onslaught of problems waiting to be solved (customer complaints, bug fixes, marketing, getting new customers on board
it’s consuming all your free time which is damaging your relationships and is starting to affect your health)

❌ And so
Even your loved ones are starting to lose faith in you (maybe this was just a fluke and not something that can actually pay the bills long-term. This leaves you feeling lonely and misunderstood—nobody gets your obsession)

And now you realize

❌ You are the “bottleneck” in your business and you’re in desperate need of a distribution system that RELIABLY attracts you customers (so you can slow down and focus on building out your product—setting the foundation for long-term growth & safety)”

==========

(Umm
sneaky sidenote: If any of these resonated with you
reply with “DFY” to see how I can help 😁 ).

What am I trying to do here?

Well, it’s simple:

I want to HOOK my dream customers in by showing them “I understand your situation, I’m here to help.”

(Please read the sentence above again. This is the single most important factor in making someone trust you and WANT to buy from you.)

“But Tim, aren’t these a little too specific?”

You might think that I’m missing out on a BUNCH of clients that don’t resonate with these experiences.

Wrong.

The thing is: your marketing should only target ONE specific avatar and that means one VERY specific set of problems nobody—except them—will understand. (I’ve been telling you about this for AGES!).

The reason?

These real-world, lived experiences will cut through like a hot knife through butter for that one specific person (my dream client).

If I were even a little more vague and targeted slightly higher-level problems
I wouldn’t be able to resonate with that one person enough for them to trust me.

Anyways, continuing

What else am I trying to do here?

Notice how I’m not asking questions? (*he says as he asks a question*)

Instead, I’m expressing these feelings as if they were FACTS.

(Because to the right people
 they are).

Adding too many questions to your sales copy
is a tell-tale sign of a newbie copywriter.

Questions like:

“Do you struggle with weight loss?”
“Are you feeling frustrated?”
“Do you want to buy from me đŸ„ș ?”

Questions make you seem uncertain.

Don’t get me wrong
they’re great for keeping the reader engaged. But that’s not always the goal with hard sales copy.

We want to position ourselves as a confident leader—someone who has the solution to their problems.

We want to hit close to home with the right person.

I’m not saying:

“Are you unable to ‘switch off’ and relax?”

I’m saying:

“It IS impossible for you to ‘switch off’ and relax!!!”

Right. Those were 2 “higher-level” copywriting principles you can take away from these bullets.

But there’s plenty more to learn from them.

Who knows
maybe I’ll break this entire sales page down as a bonus for one of my upcoming courses? 😇

Anyways, let’s crush it today.

P.S. How did you like this email? I LOVE me some good ole feedback from you guys. It helps me improve these emails and make them more relevant.

(Plus, it takes you like 2 seconds to reply. Do it!!!)
